Edmonton weather: Hot today and Saturday, cooler Sunday and Monday
CTV Edmonton's Cory Edel has the details on a heat warning in place for the capital city.
The heat sticks around for the start of the long weekend in Edmonton. But, we'll be back to highs in the low to mid 20s for Sunday/Monday.
There's still some uncertainty with the precipitation timing, but here's how I think it'll probably play out:
40% chance of a hit-and-miss showers or thunderstorm Saturday evening/night.
60% chance of some scattered showers in the area Sunday, especially in the afternoon.
60% chance of a few showers Monday, especially early in the day - good chance of some clearing in the afternoon.
So...I do think there's a better chance that we get SOME precipitation than none. But, the likelihood of heavy, steady rain still looks pretty low for the city.
Temperatures should be up around 30 C for afternoon highs today and Saturday.
Sunday and Monday's highs will be depend on the precipitation. We could be anywhere between 22 C and 26 C for highs in the city.
Elsewhere around the province:
Showers and thunderstorms in the foothills, northwestern Alberta and scattered across southern Alberta Saturday afternoon and evening.
Rain in southern Alberta Sunday with some showers pushing north through the afternoon and evening.
Showers and/or periods of steadier rain in east-central and northeastern Alberta on Monday.
